The requirements of the Framework Directive include:
- assessment of risk, to employees and others;
- planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of protective and preventative measures
- health surveillance
- competent safety officers to be appointed and the provision of reasonable facilities and assistance to safety officers to allow them to carry out all their statutory functions;
- procedures to cope with serious and imminent danger - and people to implement emergency procedures.
